Day 1 Delhi
Arrive to Delhi and transfer to hotel. Optional afternoon sightseeing of Old Delhi. Dinner and overnight in a luxury heritage hotel. (D)
Day 2 Delhi - Kanha National Park 
Early morning fly to Nagpur or Jabalpur, and drive 5 hours into Kanha National Park to the quieter side of the park near Mukki gate. Stay for three nights in an eco-friendly luxury tented camp with candlelight outdoor dinners on the verandah in the company of naturalist British Indian hosts.
Optional afternoon safari as you like.(B,L,D)
Day 3 Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh
A short drive to enter the park at Mukkhi Gate for your first early morning safari. Kanha National Park of vast meadows and serene evergreen forests, teams with wildlife including the last herd of barasingha (swamp deer) on earth, Indian bisson, packs of jackals and wild dogs, wild bore, 15 rare sloth bears as well as plenty of peacock cawing, langur monkeys chatting and sitting about the roadsides. And of course the precious big cats, leopard and tiger prawling around leaving pugmarks to raise hopes of a sighting! Of which you may be pleasantly surprised when you least expect! Lunch and relax back at the camp before your afternoon safari. Dinner under the stars.
   
Day 4 Kanha National Park
Early morning rise for safari, including an elephant ride to observe tigers if and where located.
Lunch at the camp lodge, followed by siesta and late afternoon safari. Optional visit to the local market and/or a traditional dinner in local village home can be arranged. Evening regale all your sightings at the lodge over dinner .(B,L,D)
Day 5 Kanha NP – Bandhavgarh NP
Early rise for last safari and breakfast in Kanha, followed by long drive 7 hrs north weaving through fields and villages to Bandhavgarh National Park. Stay on the outskirts the tiny village of Tala at another delightful camp within a wire’s breadth of the wild, with an affable host with his heart set on preserving the indigenous life of the park. Whether in a thatched cottage or Shikar tent you’ll feel safe and even if you don’t manage to see Mr Tiger from your abode, rest assured he has seen you! Enjoy the excellent buffet meals at the communal lodge and relaxed gatherings around the log fire. (B,L,D)
Day 6 Bandhavgarh National Park, Madhya Pradesh
Early rise for first morning safari in Bandhavgarh where the tigers are well known and movements keenly watched from elephant back by the forest department mahouts and many a wildlife photographer. Bandhavgarh boasts the highest density of tigers in relatively smaller reserve area and therefore chances of sightings increased. Creatures of habit and territory, they have grown accustomed to tourists and jeeps and remain happily undisturbed by the vehicles and all the cameras set upon them. Once located in the early morning, a short elephant ride to observe is offered. Breakfast back at the camp and later lunch and plenty of time to relax in between before your early evening safari. Dinner, bonfire and wild conversation. (B,L,D)
Day 7 Bandhavgarh - Katni
Early morning jeep safari and short elephant ride tiger willing, followed by brunch and leisurely lunch and an afternoon of relaxation back at the camp. Time permitting have afternoon safari, followed by transfer (2hrs) to Katni, the rail junction for onward journey, overnight train to Rajasthan. Packed dinner on board. (B,L,D)
Day 8 Ranthambhore National Park, Rajasthan
Arrive morning around 9.30am at station of Sawai Madhopur, village nearest Ranthambhore National Park. Transfer to your third luxury tented camp and passionate eco-friendly hosts near this picturesque park and its lake shrines. Once the exclusive hunting grounds of Rajasthani royalty, Ranthambhore is set amidst the ruins of a fort in the ancient Aravalli hills and has been the sole preserve of the tigers and wildlife since 1971 when hunting was banned and Project Tiger was launched. Refresh from your rail voyage, take a leisurely lunch and an afternoon safari into the park and meet the local tigress, Machali, if she wills her way your way! Rajasthani dinner outdoors accompanied by traditional music and dance. (B,L,D)
Day 9 Ranthambhore National Park 
Early morning safari into the serenity of the Aravalli hills, see the herds of sambor and spotted deer happily grazing together on the grasslands, crocodiles and white herons stalking the waters edge and the abundant birdlife including the colourful kingfisher and peacock. Keep a watchful eye out for fresh pugmarks and a sharp ear for alarm calls that by now you will be familiar with and patiently wait your encounter, tiger willing. Breakfast and lunch back at the lodge and take a long nap like a cat through the heat of the day. Afternoon last safari and may it be a blessed one! Rajasthani dinner and music. (B,L,D)
Day 10 Ranthambore – Jaipur
Morning drive 4 hours to Jaipur, the Pink City of Palaces and Maharajas, one of India’s most colourful states with men in bright turbans and coiffed moustaches, women in dazzling mirrored saries and bells on their ankles, ambling camels and haunting music. Settle into raj lifestyle in a Haveli heritage hotel, a traditional rajput mix of stately Mughal and Indian architecture with domes and frescoes and a royal household to this day with the maharajas family living on the upper floors. Afternoon free to explore the old pink city and meander the bazaars reknowned for gems and jewels and textiles, trade and bargain at your pleasure or peril! Rasjasthani dinner accompanied by musicians.(B,L,D)
Day 11 Jaipur
Morning guided sightseeing tour of Pink City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal and Nahargarh (Tiger) Fort for views of the city and further afield the Fort Palace of Amer. Late lunch and afternoon at your leisure, explore more city palaces or simply enjoy the pristine pool set in an ambient courtyard. Rajasthani dinner and overnight in your haveli. (B,L,D)
Day 12 Jaipur – Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary
Morning drive to Bharatpur (181km/3 hrs) to another heritage palace hotel and pleasure gardens of calm and serenity near the Keoladeo National Park. Afternoon visit to the world heritage bird sanctuary bristling with 350 species, one of the most fascinating bird-feeding and breeding grounds in the world.(B,L,D)
Day 13 Bharatpur – Agra
Leisurely morning and short drive (55km/1½ hr) to Agra, home to the world wonder, Taj Mahal built by Shah Jahan in memory of his favourite wife Mumtaz Mahal, a monument to eternal love. En route visit Akbar’s abandoned capital of Fatehpur Sikri. Afternoon guided sightseeing of Agra Fort & Taj Mahal. Enjoy sunset views of the Taj from your luxury hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 14 Agra – Delhi
Leisurely morning and after lunch visit to Sikandra, Mughal Emperor Akbar’s Mausoleum en route to Delhi (4 hrs). Dinner and overnight at a heritage luxury hotel.(B,L,D)
Day 15 Dehli
Breakfast & transfer to airport. End of your Tiger Wildlife Safari and tour of the Golden triangle. (B) |
